Animals and Religion Resources

The Humane Society of the United States’ Animals and Religion program has an e-newsletter, current events and resources for and by various religious communities.

The Religion and Animals Institute is a non-profit organization with resources and scholarly publications on issues of animals, religion and society.

Started by The Revd Professor Andrew Linzey at the University of Oxford, the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics is the first of its kind aimed at research, teaching and publication of issues relevant to animals, society and religion.

The BBC Religion and Ethics site has information on animals and ethics from various religious perspectives with a list of resources for further research.

ReligionLink offers both general and particular to various religious perspectives in the United States, including a database on animal chaplaincy.

Dr. Ron Epstein's "Religious Thought about Animals" site, constructed for a class at San Francisco State University, offers resources for the study of religion and animal rights.

Vegetarian Times has thousands of easy-to-search recipes for those transitioning toward vegetarian and vegan eating.

Cruelty-Free provides a number of columns devoted to animal issues in ethics, religion, law, politics and science.
